El’s Picture Book【The Witch and Lafrenze】 (in Japanese エルの絵本【魔女とラフレンツェ】, Eru no Ehon【Majo to Rafurentse】) is the third track on Sound Horizon's fourth story CD Elysion. An early version of the song appeared on the first pleasure CD Pico Magic.

The infant was abandoned in woods far away from human dwelling
Whether fortunate...or unfortunate...the one who took in the child who was abandoned as though out of fear for onlookers
Was《the Supreme Flame》[Crimson] Old-Rose, the one-eyed witch banished from the kingdom
Silver hair and scarlet eyes, skin as white as snow
The infant eventually grew into a girl whose beauty sends shivers down the spines of any that cared to look...
A state of flux is the foundation of all creation As long as time flows, it is not an exception
The curtains draw upon the story revolving two paradises, with none the wiser...
“We have many regrets...let us out...save us...”
“Lafrenze...don’t forget...”
Letting her silver hair flow with the wind, Lafrenze prays for the dead...
Her tiny lips play a requiem Sing, Lafrenze, and resound through eternity...
A serpent that devours time The canon of burnt chains
Lycoris that bloom in frenzy A paradise[Elysion] that they cannot return to
Once the candle disappears, there’ll be a river that cannot be crossed
Forgetting even its beginning, it embraces endless emptiness[sky]...
“Let us out...save us...”
“Creature’s voice- damn you, Lafrenze”...the dissonance[harmony] of pained screams
“Unsatisfied- hateful Lafrenze”...the flames of grudging curses burn
Whilst knowing it to be a fragile fantasy, the living seek paradise on the shore across
Similarly, the dead seek paradise on the shore they cannot return to
The cold river of Hades that separate them
The maiden’s tears shall never run dry
The river of lament will simply rise higher...

The player with sad eyes – the name of the beautiful youth was...
“Lafrenze...don’t forget... You are the last guardian of the door that protects this world from the dead that dwell in Hades...
You cannot ever break the barrier of purity...”
Her grandmother disappeared, and she shut her lips
She knew that the wind blowing past her was loneliness
He arrived, and she opened her lips
She became so happy that she forgot her own promise..

The magic of the instant that hands touch
Her heart beats rapidly, ringing a tiny silver bell
The magic of the instant that eyes meet
A forbidden flame, the girl knew love...
Taking one will leave her yearning for ten, depriving ten will leave her lusting for a hundred
Those flames of hers won’t extinguish till they’ve burnt up all of him...
“Lafrenze...don’t forget...”
Lafrenze, choking with lust and love, scattered her flowers of purity
Lafrenze, ignorant of love and hate, embraced a pitch black flame
He groped for the beast’s cage connected to darkness and released it
He descends towards the depths of Hades, connected within the girl’s womb...
-Footsteps that draw close
Eventually, he[Orpheus] will take the maiden’s[Eurydice’s] hand and dash up the stairs of darkness
However, the girl sang a cruel curse in retaliation to his betrayal
Ah...soon, he will...he will turn around-
“Did the witch give birth to Lafrenze...or did Lafrenze give birth to the witch..
The story lies outside of its pages-”
