懺悔が届いたのか やがて熱は下がった

「─妹は他人とは違うから お姉ちゃんが助けてあげてね･･･」

生きる為に私は 朝な夕な働いた
村の男達は 優しくしてくれたけど
村の女達は 次第に冷たくなっていった
貧しい暮らしだったけど 温もりがあった･･･

それなのにどうして･･･こんな残酷な仕打ちを･･･教えて神様！
妹が授かった子は 主が遣わし給うた 神の御子ではないのでしょうか？
─妹が子供を身篭もっていることが発覚した夜
村の男達は互いに顔を見合わせ口を噤んだ
重い静寂を引き裂いたのは耳を疑うような派手な打音
仕立屋の若女将が妹の頬を張り飛ばした音･･･

─断片的な記憶･･･断罪的な罵声･･･
嗚呼･･･この女は何を喚いているんだろう？ 気持ち悪い
ぐらりと世界が揺れ 私は弾け飛ぶように若女将に掴みかかっていた･･･
緋く染まった視界 苦い土と錆びの味 頭上を飛び交う口論 神父様の怒声

The men of the village looked at each other and kept quiet
What tore apart the heavy silence was the sound of a slap, so loud that it made me doubt my ears
The sound of the young landlady from the atelier striking my sister's cheek...
Thieving cat...and here we felt sorry for her...we took care of her...ingrate...

My world wavered, and I jumped at the young landlady, to hold her tight in my grip...
A vision stained scarlet. The taste of bitter earth and rust. Arguments that fly above her head. Words of anger from the priest.
Purity...contract with a devil...seed of disasters...Lady Maria's...no one...Gabriel...burn her at the stake!
“Ah...so you are the true demons!”

How much have heartless words and heartless actions hurt her?
But because...she's a gentle girl...she’ll forgive everything, yes, everything...
“But I'll never forgive...”
“If this world is nothing but a replacement for paradise, then all sinful ones should return to ashes!”
-a barefooted girl, holding a frozen smile on her face
Wavering flames, she stared at the 『Masked Man』 beyond the darkness...
